As the sole UX designer on this project, I first addressed challenges in the Canvas LMS pinning flow to enhance user workflows and usability. I identified areas of friction in the user experience, optimized the pinning interface, and streamlined the process for data visualization. My work focused on improving user actions, enabling functionality alignment, and simplifying data management for Canvas LMS users.

Problem ↓
The "Ask Your Data" feature within Canvas LMS had complex user flows for pinning, limited means to search through chat history, as well as long loading times, resulting in lower engagement.
Process ↓
I analyzed pain points in the pinning and search workflows, redesigned the pinboard interface, and proposed improvements to waiting states.
Created three waiting states options to encourage users to "stay on" the platform
Introduced "Chat Collections" to optimize searching through previous chat threads
Refined dropdown chat history and introduced keyword search
Proposed "All Pinboards" Grid + List View
